The ibex herd is increasing rapidly and there are more licenses available than there have been any time in the past 10 years.  As of February 2011 the State Legislature and the State Attorney General are working independently on two measures that will likely reduce the number of ibex licenses available to non-residents.  Therefore, we strongly recommend that NON-RESIDENTS APPLY NOW.  Deadline to apply is March 28^th, 2011 .

The ibex hunts occur on the Florida mountains which are primarily BLM and state owned lands.  To confirm that we have the legally required (see page 16 to the Game & Fish Rule Book) permits to guide you please call the Las Cruces District BLM Office at (575)  525-4300 and the New Mexico State land office at (505) 827-5760.  Archery, muzzleloader and youth hunts are not “Once in a Lifetime”.
